Christmas Leaf Ornaments

I’m so excited to have Tonia from The Gunny Sack here with us today! She is sharing a unique and timeless ornament that doesn’t necessarily have to be hung on the tree! I could see this being displayed on bedroom doorknobs or on a mantel!

Hello Sew Woodsy readers, I’m Tonia from The Gunny Sack.  I’ve been blogging about crafting, sewing and cooking for almost 1 year now!

I am excited to be part of Katie’s 12 Days of Handmade Ornaments series.  I love decorating for the holidays and decided to make these Christmas leaves this year.

Cut a triangle from a piece of felt.

Sew a line down the front and lines across the triangle.  I sewed each line 3 times on the first leaf and 2 times on the second leaf, for added strength.  I used silver thread to match my Christmas decor this year but any color would look good!

Cut the extra thread, cut the spaces between the sewn lines and round the tip.

Then, add a ribbon and bells to the top and give the leaves a little twist before displaying.

Thanks for having me over today, Katie, and I hope to see all of you at The Gunny Sack where you can check out some of my other tutorial like {Everything} In A Jar Handmade Gifts, Felt Acorns, Merry Mocha Mint Drink and Knockoff Horchow Felt Petal Pillow.
