Allergy Season… time to change the air filter!

Allergy Season... time to change the air filter! @Filtrete Air Filters from SewWoodsy.com
It’s that time of year… the most dreaded time of year for me at least. It’s allergy season. I get a daily push-notification from my weather channel app alerting me of the current status of pollen in our area. Nine times out of ten we are on a high alert. When our friends at Filtrete invited us to become ambassadors for the year we knew we couldn’t pass up the offer. Improving air quality in our home is our number one priority!

Filtrete Filters are the most trusted brand of furnace filters. They are up to four times better than ordinary pleated filters and are consistently rated #1 by a leading magazine that rates consumer products.  Filtrete Filters help create a healthy home and healthier indoor air by capturing airborne dust, allergens, bacteria and viruses.

Did you know that the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) suggest you change your air filter every 3 months? The best way to do this is to do it at the start of the year and quarterly.

This quarter we are trying the Filtrete Ultimate Allergen Reduction Filter. Here are a few quick facts about the filter:

  • Allergen defense
  • Captures up to 93% of large airborne particles (like pollen and dust mites)
  • Captures 4x more particles like smoke, smog, and pet dander!

Are you a new homeowner and need to learn how to change your air filter? We have that covered.

Once you remove your existing filters you’ll want to write your date on your filter!

You want to face the arrow towards the direction of the air flow. In our case, we face the arrows up.

Once the air filter is in place, put the cover back on the air handler.

Snap it in place.

Then use the handy sticker that Filtrete provides and write the date on the sticker for your next filter change.

Peel it off the direction sheet.

And then stick the sticker on your handler!
