Last year we made our master bedroom into a master suite–a place to really unwind and enjoy! If you remember we had a blue accent wall in our room. At first I liked it. I can honestly say I never loved the blue accent wall. But over the past year I’ve decided that the accent wall has to go. It took a lot of convincing to get Jon to repaint over that wall. Back when we were painting the room we tried doing a texture wall and that didn’t pan out… let’s just say there are about 5 coats of paint on our back wall. I also had to convince Jon because he hates to paint once the crown moulding and base boards are up. He is a perfectionist and does not like when it doesn’t look perfect.

So when ScotchBlue™ Painter’s Tape contacted us I knew just the project to tackle! Jon’s motto is paint less and tape more. When you take the time to tape the baseboards and crown moulding and all the other pieces and parts you don’t want paint on–you can paint in a breeze. Yes, taping does take time, but at the end of the day you’ll be happy you’ve saved your moulding!

First is first, tape the baseboards. We used ScotchBlue™ Painter’s Tape Delicate Surface with Edge-Lock 2080EL for the baseboards. We also like to use the 3M no-slip drop cloths.

Next up, tape that crown moulding. It is beautiful and the last thing you want to do is get paint on it! Paint Less--Tape More with @ScotchBlue from SewWoodsy.com

Now, it’s time to paint! Cut in the edges and roll! Seriously painting took no time at all since Jon wasn’t concerned about painting on the moulding.

Step 5–remove the ScotchBlue™ Painter’s Tape! I wanted to keep it real and show you what our room really looked like while painting… lol

I’m in love with the new change! It’s exactly what I’ve wanted for months now!

  1. I used this tutorial to paint my sewing desk…so easy to follow. I was afraid painting furniture would end up as a big, giant fail for me. :-)
