Last month, I had the opportunity to test out the new Cricut Iron-on vinyl. Once I learned how to use it I was hooked. I made our friend 3 onesies–in fact it was the way we told them we were expecting a baby. But that’s another post. Today, I’m sharing how I created this super cute punk princess onesie. I felt the pink glitter was perfect for this edgy onesie!
- Cricut Mini Personal Electronic Cutter
- Rock Princess Cartridge
- Cricut® Iron-on Glitter, Pink
- Cricut® Tool Kit
First off, you’ll need to go into Cricut Craft Room and choose the Rock Princess cartridge. I chose the “punk princess” logo. Once I got it to the size I wanted it (about 4.5 inches) I hit the “flip in” button. Any time you create iron-on vinyl that has words you have to reverse it! Trust me–if you don’t you’ll waste precious vinyl!
Cut the iron-on vinyl as you would with the vinyl setting. Make sure you put the shiny side down (plastic like film).
Then by using the Cricut tools begin to “weed out” the negative pieces that you won’t want to show on the onesie!
Next up, position the iron-on vinyl on the onesie.
Using a piece of cloth I held the iron down on high heat for 15-20 seconds. Moving it slowly back and forth. Remove the fabric and see if the image took on the onesie. If you use thick fabric it will take longer to get the iron-on vinyl to adhere to the onesie!
Carefully remove, the plastic. It will be hot so do not burn yourself. If anything… let it cool off and then remove.
