A few years ago, I shared the mini-makeover we gave our guest bathroom. Since then I’ve changed up the shower curtain, towels, and floor mat, but I had never changed the DIY bathroom artwork I made for the bathroom. I finally got around to making this DIY Burlap Bathroom Art that I’ve been wanting to make for the past 6 months. And to jazz up our bathroom I got one of the exclusively designed LISTERINE® (UltraClean & Total Care) bottles. I love that these mouthwash bottles have a cool chevron design. The bottles have been available at Target since July 13, 2014 and are only available at Target.
They have four refreshing flavors and each come in different colored chevron designs – perfect for keeping out on display in your bathroom. This pattern is available for a limited-time only. I went with the purple and blue accents because I loved the pop of color it brought to our teal and gray bathroom! The four different colors definitely can add personality to any bathroom. Each color coincides with a flavor: Cool Mint, Fresh Mint, Arctic Mint, & Fresh Citrus. Jon and I are “mint people” so I knew that the Fresh Mint flavor and the color pallet would work perfectly. We’ve used Listerine for years now, so it was an instant match made in heaven. Beautifully designed bottle plus our favorite flavor. LISTERINE® is the #1 dentist recommended brand and it gives you a cleaner, healthier mouth. Let’s get started on this easy DIY Burlap Bathroom Art.
- 16 x 20 Burlap Canvas
- Cricut Explore + Cricut Design Space
- White Vinyl
- Vinyl Transfer
- Nail & Hammer (or Command Strips)
First up, I used the Bebas Nue font and designed the art in Cricut Design Space. I liked the idea of incorporating the flossing and mouth wash rinsing into my sign. I aligned it to the right and then cut the vinyl. Once the vinyl was cut then I removed the negative vinyl from the sheet. So that the letters were only visible. I also removed the negative parts of the vinyl from the letters as well. Before I applied the vinyl transfer tape I placed the letters on the canvas to get an idea of the positioning I wanted them at. I choose the bottom right corner. Then I applied vinyl transfer to the vinyl. Using a vinyl applicator I pressed the transfer tape on to the vinyl. Then I placed the vinyl transfer tape on the canvas. Used the applicator to press the vinyl down and then carefully started to peel the vinyl transfer tape away from the canvas. I will say that the texture from the burlap canvas made it a little challenging. But it did stick and its been up for over a week and all the letters are still adhered on. This is purely decorative and of course if you pick at the sign the letters will come off. I love how the art turned out. Exactly how I envisioned it! So if your looking to spruce up your bathroom make one of these easy DIY Burlap Bathroom Art signs and pick up a bottle of LISTERINE®. Remember, these bottles are available for a limited-time only and exclusive at Target!
