Master Bedroom Refresh – Spring 2015

Whim Bedding Collection 6

I'm so excited to share a little refresh we recently did to our master bedroom. Our bedding is a few years old now and thanks to our adorable dog she had ripped parts of our comforter. She's tiny and likes to "fluff" before she lays down... resulting in her tearing it with her razor sharp teeth! So we knew it was time to retire our old comforter set and come up with a new look. At the same time we decided this my friends at Martha Stewart Living contacted me and asked me if I would like to try … [Read more...]

Spring is right around the corner and with that being said we are already starting to do some spring cleaning. The first order of business is everyday maintenance of our hardwood floors. Now that we have a mobile baby I'm finding myself cleaning the floor a lot more often than ever before! I'm always looking for non-toxic and no residue product as well as an easy-to-use products. Yogabed™ – The Luxury Foam Mattress

Yogabed 1

A big thanks to Yogabed for sponsoring todays post. As always all opinions are our own.  Jon and I have been married for going on 7 years and have been together for 12.5 years. In the 7.5 years we've lived together we have never ever had a brand new mattress. The first few years of our marriage we slept on Jon's mattress from high school. Then a family friend was selling the mattress they bought just a few month's prior so we bought it (and upgraded to a king size bed). So when Yogabed … [Read more...]

Cutting Butcher Block for an Undermount Sink

Cutting Butcher Block for an Undermount Sink

One of my goals for 2015 is to finish sharing our kitchen that we re-did in 2013! It's been over a year and a half since we revamped our kitchen. As most of you know, our kitchen wasn't in bad shape, it just wasn't what we liked. We kept the guts of the kitchen; the cabinets and appliances and removed the formica countertops, installed a new deep sink and amazing Moen MotionSence faucet, and tiled the back splash. We also added some extra cabinet space. Today, we are sharing a few of the … [Read more...]

5 Ways to Prepare for Cold & Flu Season

5 Ways to Prepare for Cold and Flu Season

I am a Filtrete Brand blogger ambassador and was compensated for this post, but all opinions and selection of additional products used in this project are my own. The dreaded cold and flu season is here. Jon has been sick on and off for the past few months, and somehow Ryder and I escaped the nasty colds he has had. It finally crept up on me last week, and I'm slowly recovering. The stomach bug and colds are going around at a few of the mommy and me weekly meet-ups Ryder and I attend. No … [Read more...]

My One Little Word for 2015 – Balance

OLW 2015 - Balance

Balance. It's my one little word for 2015. For the past month, I've struggled with coming up with a word for 2015. My word for 2014 was present. I think I did an adequate job of being present throughout the year. I've put down the phone at dinner. Given Ryder my undivided attention when he needed it most. And I've tried to put down the phone while with Jon (unless of course it was needed). I felt like a few words were applicable for how I want to live 2015. But at the end of the day, my life … [Read more...]

Everyday Stainless Steel Cleaning Tips

Everyday Stainless Steel Cleaning Tips #MeisterCleaners

This post brought to you by Meister Cleaners. The content and opinions expressed below are that of Sew Woodsy. If there is one thing I hate to do it's cleaning. I dread it like the plague. I'll cook all day long, and do loads upon loads of laundry. But give me a vacuum or worse a rag to clean stainless steel and I'm miserable. While I was pregnant we hired a cleaning service to clean our home once a month. It was a glorious thing! I knew after I gave birth we would not be able to afford the … [Read more...]

DIY Wood Pallet Projects

Our good friend and fellow blogger at The Space Between, Karah, has a brand new book out; DIY Wood Pallet Projects: 35 Rustic Modern Upcycling Ideas to Personalize Your Space!  When she announced on her blog that she was approached to write a book all about wood pallets I was so excited for her. For example she has made a pretty cool wood pallet bed, driftwood fish (as pictured on the … [Read more...]

Organize Holiday Bins 7

Do you have a crazy amount of holiday decorations stored in bins? Our attic is bin heaven... If I had to guess we have a good 50+ holiday bins. Probably of those 50 bins, 20 are easily Halloween. For years, we have talked about coming up with a holiday bin organization spreadsheet. You see, since we blog, we tend to have to work on holiday projects throughout the year.
