90th Birthday and a Tribute!

90th Birthday and a Tribute!

Today marks a very special day for our family. My great aunt Millie turned 90 years old today! She's the eldest and only surviving sibling from my mom's mother's side. Her mom, my great grandmother, lived to be 104 years old. I can only imagine Aunt Millie living to be that old! I created a very "blinged" out crazy birthday card for the wildest and wackiest lady I know... my great Aunt Millie. I used my Cricut die cutting machine and created the "birthday card" and then used the I used the … [Read more...]

Lowe’s Designer Challenge at SNAP!

Lowes Designer Challenge at SNAP! from SewWoodsy.com

I mentioned in my recap from SNAP! that I was one of the 50 lucky people chosen to participate in the Lowe's Designer Challenge. I wasn't really sure what to expect but I was up for the challenge. Somehow during all the madness I was able to snap a few photos. We had one hour to create a project. We had a table full of random supplies (with a drop cloth on it covering it until they said GO)! They also had limited drills, wood, paint, and other supplies you would need to create something. Let … [Read more...]

How to Frame a Builder's Grade Mirror (Before and After) via SewWoodsy.com for @HomesDotCom

Most of us have them... those ugly and boring builder's grade mirror. Very few of us actually do anything to jazz them up. We recently created a video over on the Homes.com blog: Frame a “Builder Grade” Mirror. This was a project that we had wanted to tackle for quite some time. You might remember, years ago when we first started blogging we shared our Guest Bathroom Mini-Makeover + Black Crown Molding. Instead of framing out that builder's grade mirror we decided to remove it and … [Read more...]
