Spring Grapevine Wreath

Spring Grapevine Wreath

I've never been big into wreaths and wreath making until we bought our home, and even then 2-1/2 years later I've officially gotten the wreath making bug. Our front door had been bare since Valentine's Day and I was itching to make a spring wreath. I hadn't planned on using a grapevine wreath, but time and time again they just levitate toward me! I made this wreath in less than 30 minutes, and when my neighbor came over she asked where I bought it--I was pleased to tell her that I made … [Read more...]

Christmas Pillow Packages

pillow package 9

Last week on the Bowdabra blog I shared a simple way to spruce up your front porch for the holidays. Add ribbon and bows to your outdoor pillows and transform them into "pillow packages". I'm going to show you how I transformed the long green rectangular pillow into a package. Supplies: Red sparkly Toile (I cut multiple 12 inch long pieces prior to starting the project). Bowdabra Scissors 1.  Cut a 24” piece of toile and fold it in half. Lay it into the Bowdabra. You’ll have a … [Read more...]

Tacky Christmas Sweaters

DSC_7912

Earlier this month Mr. Woodsy & I were invited to a Tacky Christmas Sweater party. We were so excited to create the tackiest of tacky sweaters that could possibly be made. We took a trip to our local Goodwill in hunt of two sweaters and in hopes to find some inexpensive Christmas decorations to possibly use on the sweaters. Mr. Woodsy found a Bill Cosby-esque 1980's style sweater and I found a simple red and blue sweater (both Men's larges). We find felt gingerbread men , a horn adorned … [Read more...]

I guest blogged over on the Bowdabra blog last month, and I can't wait to share it with all of Sew Woodsy's readers today. If your anything like me you have more ribbon than you ever know what to do with. I even save ribbon year after year from Christmas packaging. The Coffin is Down & a Dead Floral Arrangement

We have officially brought down ALL of our Halloween decorations; both big and small. The last item to come down from the attic the other day was the rustic wood coffin that Mr. Woodsy made last year. For some reason Mr. Woodsy felt the need to put this up in our attic. Why? Beats me. This is made from wood pallets and easily ways over 50lbs! To be honest I have no idea how he even got this up in our attic. I started to document the trip down and as I watched Mr. Woodsy sway back and forth … [Read more...]

{Bowdabra Design Team} Fall Harvest Wreath

Happy Friday! I'm on the Bowdabra Blog today for the third Friday in a row showcasing my lovely Fall Harvest Wreath. My mother in-law graciously gave use this wreath a few years ago. She always stored the wreath in a box each year until the Fall months where she hung it on her door.  We keep the same tradition going, and to be honest it still looks new!  I've always felt though that it needed a little extra pizzaz.  After adding the bow I'm in love with my wreath once … [Read more...]

{Bowdabra Design Team} Designer Dog Harness

Happy Friday! I hope everyone has had a wonderful week. I'm sharing some pictures of our Yorkie, Lola, today. I'm over on the Bowdabra Blog today sharing my Dog Bow Tutorial for "Dog Week". I turned our cute little Yorkie's gentle leader harness into a Designer Harness in less than 10 minutes. Lola, our 10 pound princess, does not like to wear bows in her hair. I've tried time and time again, and she pulls them out quicker than I can put them in her hair.  Lately, I've been getting annoyed … [Read more...]

I'm excited to share that I'm making my Design Team debut on the Bowdabra blog today. I'm sharing how I made a Vacation Memorabilia Organizer with the items we had brought home from our New York City vacation over the 4th of July weekend. I printed out a few of my favorite photo's from our trip and included a printed out map (since we have an awesome map I'd never want to cut up), our playbills, entry tickets, and metro card. Please visit the Bowdabra blog and learn how to make your … [Read more...]

I'm so excited to officially share with our fellow followers that I've (Mrs. Woodsy) joined the Bowdabra Design Team! I announced it earlier last week on our Facebook Fan Page, upon my bio on the Bowdabra Blog being published. (More reason's why you should follow us on Facebook--you get to learn "breaking" info as soon as I can release it!)  Yesterday, the announcement was made official on … [Read more...]
