6 DIY Mother's Day Gifts from SewWoodsy.com

Yesterday, I shared a simple Mini Scalloped Bunting Banner for Mother's day. Today, I'm sharing six DIY Mother's Day Gift ideas as well as an EPIC Mother's Day giveaway. Nothing says "I love you" more than a handmade gift. I've put together six of my favorite handmade gifts that you too can make this Mother's Day. A little fun fact... I made my mom the iPhone sleeve a few years ago for mother's day. I think I need to re-make her one since it's a bit dirty and well we could say used and … [Read more...]

Glitter Christmas Doormat

Glitter Christmas Doormat using Tulip Shimmer Products | SewWoodsy.com

A few weeks ago I shared with the world my Tulip Shimmer Haul Video. I got yet another awesome opportunity to work with a well known brand and get to try out some of their products! I love all things glitter; however, Mr. Woodsy is not a fan. He was happy to see the Tulip Shimmer Sheets and the Tulip Shimmer Paints. Both are full of glitter yet little to no mess!  … [Read more...]

For those who read Sew Woodsy, you know that I'm a huge fan of the Cricut. Provo Craft has started introducing a new program called "Cut it Free for a Week"! {Card Making} Enter If You Dare

DSC_0432

Halloween is right around the corner. Why not make your favorite ghoul a card for this spooky occasion! For this card I used my Cricut Die-Cutting machine to do all the work for me. I love the Happy Hauntings Cartridge and picked an image and phrase to compliment my card. I had a stack of pre-scalloped edged cards just sitting around. I love the color combo of orange, black, green, and purple during Halloween! Supplies for this card: 3 pieces of card stock from the Ravenhead Manor Book … [Read more...]

Halloween Vinyl Chalkboard Menu Board

cricut craft room Halloween vinyl chalkboard menu board

I'm so excited to share a super simple vinyl project today just in time for the Halloween season. I've been toying around with this idea in my head for quite some time and I'm so happy I finally made my idea to come to life. After receiving a package of vinyl from MyVinylDirect.com last month I knew I wanted to make a chalkboard menu, and of course with Halloween sneaking up on us I knew this would be the perfect time to make it! Supplies: 1/4" Paneling Wood Table saw Chalkboard … [Read more...]

Wood Vinyl Sign

love is our religion sign

I'm so excited to finally reveal the sign I've been working on for our master bedroom. I've had this "phrase" in my head for a long time and I knew eventually I would make it into a sign. It is even more appropriate since this sign is for our bedroom. Mr. Woodsy and I walked into our wedding reception to Ziggy Marley's "Love is my Religion". We love the song and we love reggae music in general. So the phrase "Love is our Religion" is very appropriate for us! I've recently partnered up … [Read more...]

{How to use} Cricut Craft Room

how to use cricut craft room

I received my first die-cut machine, the Cricut Personal, a few years ago. It only cut up to 5 inches in height. Although I couldn't make rather large cuts I could make beautiful cards and other projects that required a die-cut. Earlier this year I had to make the difficult decision of choosing to jump ship from Cricut and join the Silhouette bandwagon or stick with Cricut. That is when Cricut unveiled their new Cricut Mini Personal Electronic Cutter at CHA. And with the Circut Mini came the … [Read more...]

{Card Making} Housewarming Card

A few weeks ago Mr. Woodsy & I were invited to a housewarming party. It's customary to bring a small gift when attending a housewarming party, no matter if the couple insist that gifts are not welcomed. A potted plant, a gift card to Home Depot, a bottle of wine--something. In my opinion, it is in poor judgment to show up empty handed! Whenever we go to housewarming parties of course I have to make a handmade card. They are so easy to make, inexpensive if you already have the materials on … [Read more...]

{Card Making} Father’s Day Cards

Father's day is a week from tomorrow, and by now most of us are buying gifts and making cards. I felt it was appropriate to share two different cards I made for two special father's in our lives. The first card requires no die-cutting machine and the second card I made using my die cutting machine. I will definitely admit that this isn't my best work, but I feel its important to showcase that I'm not perfect and I don't alway produce the most amazing cards. You'll notice my cards are simple, … [Read more...]

Burlap Wrapped Mason Jars

Mason Jar Burlap Glasses 2

I co-hosted my best friend's bridal shower this past Saturday. I've been assisting with the planning for a little over a month now, and I'm happy to report that her bridal shower was a hit! She is going with a "rustic" wedding theme, so we wanted to follow along with her theme and tie that into her shower theme. When her sister and I began planning I knew I wanted to incorporate mason jars some where in the mix. It was until I was browsing on Pinterest that I knew I wanted to use mason jars as … [Read more...]
