“Home of the Brave” Patriotic Cake Topper

Home of the Brave Cake Topper

Get ready to wow your guest with a super simple cake topper. This "Home of the Brave" Patriotic Cake Topper is easy to make and thanks to the Cricut you can make it in minutes! I always think of vinyl as just something I adhere to the walls, windows, furniture and more. But I always forget that another great way to use it is on paper. No need to cut paper and run it through an adhesive runner. Instead you can just cut vinyl and adhere it directly on the paper. Some people are afraid to use … [Read more...]

USA Mini Bunting Banner

usa mini bunting banner 5

Get ready for the cutest mini bunting banner around. I got the idea for a USA mini bunting banner after making a mini bunting banner for Ryder's 1st Birthday cake. For his cake I secured the mini bunting banner to paper straws. But for this bunting banner I just secured it to the picture frame using a little tape.  On 4th of July I plan to adhere the bakers twine to paper straws and stick it in a cake! Whatever way you want to display the USA mini bunting banner is up to … [Read more...]

DIY “My Dad Rocks” Onesie

My Dad Rocks Onesie

I whipped up a quick onesie for Ryder so that he can show his love for "dada" on Father's Day! I used a existing image found in the Cricut Design Space library and then added the "my" text. Like I said, super simple to do and "dada" loved it when he saw him wearing it for the mini photo shoot!  The best part is that I can add a few of the photos from our mini photo shoot into Jon's Father's day journal for this year! Supplies: Cricut Explore Cricut Design Space Cricut Iron-On … [Read more...]

DIY “I’m A Proud Father” T-Shirt

DIY I'm A Proud Father T-Shirt

Father's day is this weekend. I hope you've made something for the special father in your life. If not. I have you covered. I created the cutest phrase and ironed it on to a t-shirt. Perfect shirt for any dad. Jon loved the shirt and couldn't stop laughing at it. Specifically the part about "his mom making the shirt". It's definitely what I would do, and he doesn't expect anything less. Make sure you download the image so you can upload it into Cricut Design Space and make this shirt … [Read more...]

How To Apply Vinyl To A Coffee Table + $100 Giveaway

Because Every Picture Has A Story Vinyl on Coffee Table

This post was created in partnership with Snapfish. All opinions are my own. I recently had the chance to give our formal living room an update thanks to my friends at Snapfish! Our formal living and dining room has always been the "last" room to be decorated. The first few years it was kind of a dumping ground for everything we had but couldn't find a place for. Our formal living area also consisted of all sorts of random free furniture we received from friends and family including a … [Read more...]

DIY Father’s Day Journal

DIY Father's Day Journal 6

Make dad a DIY Father's Day Journal and write in it every year in leu of cards. He can look back and read it for years to come!  I got this idea last year before I celebrated my first mother's day. We normally always make each other cards, but let's get real who saves the cards throughout the year? Not me. They stay on my entertainment center for about a month collecting dust and then bam! In the recycling bin they go. So we decided to start a yearly journal that the opposite parent … [Read more...]

Cricut Mats 101

Cricut Mats 101

A few months ago I had the opportunity to work the Cricut Booth at the Scrapbook Expo here in Orlando, Florida. One of the questions that I constantly found myself answering was why does my paper stick to my Cricut Mat? By the end of the day I found myself sounding like a broken record. I figured if fellow crafters were asking this question in person then most likely other people (and my Cricut readers) were asking this same question to themselves. Today, I'm going to break down the three … [Read more...]

DIY First Birthday Onesie

DIY first birthday onesie

I knew even before Ryder was born that I would be making him a onesie for his birthday. I mean let's get real I've made him quite a few cute custom onesies. Why wouldn't I make him one? And then fast forward 6 months after he was born, and my friend Darci opened up a cute Etsy shop, The Kitchen and the Cave, and was making the cutest first birthday onesies and shirts. I loved her designs, so I opted to not make his and have her make him one. And then Jon found out and guilted me like no one has … [Read more...]

DIY Easter Bunny Onesie with Name

DIY Easter Bunny Onesie with Name 4

Two weeks ago, in the midst of first birthday craziness I decided I needed to make Ryder an Easter onesie. Not want... but a need. This was the first time I had cut fabric using my new Cricut Explore. I have cut fabric for years now on past Cricut machines, but I was always having to battle with figuring out the perfect number settings. Well, not any more my friends. If you cut fabric often on your Cricut and still haven't upgraded your machine this is the time. The Cricut Explore cuts fabric … [Read more...]

Lucky Shirt using Iron-On Vinyl

Learn how to make this Lucky Shirt using Iron-On Vinyl

I had all intentions of getting this post out last week so other's might be able to make the same shirt in time for St. Patrick's day. But instead I dealt with business taxes (yuck), and survived it all, so now I'm back to bring you some fun creative projects. First up, this lucky shirt. While cleaning out my craft room last month I found a mint green shirt that I'm guessing I was planning to do something with. Like 2-3 years ago. oops. But now, it's been transformed into this sparkly lucky … [Read more...]
