Customized Notebook

Last year I had the opportunity to guest blog over at Meremade. I shared this easy and fun back-to-school craft to get children excited about going back to school! The best part about these notebooks is that you can truly customize them to any person. I made this one (last year) for my friend Christy's daughter. Chloe was starting Kindergarten and I wanted her to get excited about school. Supplies: Composition Notebook Mod Podge Foam Brush Scrapbook … [Read more...]

Burlap Wrapped Four-Leaf Clover

(Pictured next to the frame my St. Patrick's Day Cloth Wreath) We have very few St. Patrick's Day decorations -- yet we both love the color green and Mr. Woodsy is a smidge Irish. Last year, I was on back-to-back-to-back business trips in the month of March and subsequently spent my St. Patrick's Day on the road. With that being said I had little to no energy to work on any St. Patrick's Day decorations. This year--I'm home *although beyond busy, and I wanted to make a few decorations for the … [Read more...]

Burlap Wrapped Mason Jars

I co-hosted my best friend's bridal shower this past Saturday. I've been assisting with the planning for a little over a month now, and I'm happy to report that her bridal shower was a hit! She is going with a "rustic" wedding theme, so we wanted to follow along with her theme and tie that into her shower theme. When her sister and I began planning I knew I wanted to incorporate mason jars some where in the mix. It was until I was browsing on Pinterest that I knew I wanted to use mason jars as … [Read more...]

Tacky Christmas Sweaters

Earlier this month Mr. Woodsy & I were invited to a Tacky Christmas Sweater party. We were so excited to create the tackiest of tacky sweaters that could possibly be made. We took a trip to our local Goodwill in hunt of two sweaters and in hopes to find some inexpensive Christmas decorations to possibly use on the sweaters. Mr. Woodsy found a Bill Cosby-esque 1980's style sweater and I found a simple red and blue sweater (both Men's larges). We find felt gingerbread men , a horn adorned … [Read more...]

{Video Tutorial} Gift Wrap Garland Christmas Tree

Last year I made a Tissue Paper Tree that took me the most part of December to finish. By far my most tedious project to date! Going into the Christmas holiday this year I did not want to take on another tedious project like this; however, I did want to make some more Christmas cone trees to decorate with. While browsing through WalMart at lunch in October I stumbled across this amazing and inexpensive gift wrap garland ($1.27 per roll). I instantly knew it would look perfect wrapped around a … [Read more...]

Guest Blogging today at Meremade

I'm guest blogging over at Meremade today! When Jennifer asked me to participate I couldn't resist in not participating in "Back-to-School" month on Meremade. I instantly knew what I wanted to make and thus I've created a customized notebook with supplies I already had in my craft room. What's wonderful about this notebook is that you can customize it to your own supplies, color pallet, and taste! I made this notebook for my friend Chisty's daughter, Chloe! She loves making  paper crafting, and … [Read more...]

Craft Lunch: Fabric Rosettes

It had been a few months since our last craft lunch at work. Being that I've been super busy and traveled half the month of March, Sarah, from While They Snooze organized last month's craft lunch! She had been itching to make some fabric rosettes. Our goal for craft lunch is to always pick a craft that has very little pieces and parts, inexpensive, and can be typically completed within our hour lunch break. A majority of the time it involves hot glue. We have a co-worker (and very dear friend of … [Read more...]

Tutorial: Fabric Bulletin Board {revamp}

A really good friend of mine gave me a beige on beige fabric bulletin board last summer. I knew I wanted it, but I also knew that the beige on beige was going to have to go! For months I looked for fabric, and thus I found this beautiful black and off white print. I scoured the ribbon aisles at Michaels Crafts and fell in love with this turquoise. Thankfully, Mr. Woodsy helped me with this project. I have the begining stages of arthritis in my hands, so gripping a nail gun is out of the … [Read more...]
