{Part 2} More Dresser Prep

The other day I showed how we sanded and prepped our dressers. Now, let's fast forward 2 months-- the dressers were still sitting in the garage--sanded. Acting as a nice resting place for all the crap in our garage. At this point--I just want to be able to put our clothes in dressers. See we had clothes in our nightstands and ever since we switched out our nightstands we have had to resort to storing our clothes either stuffed in our closet or piled sky high on our only 6 drawer … [Read more...]

{Part 1} Sanding & Prepping the Dressers

Quite a few months back, after almost a year of searching, Mr. Woodsy and I found the "perfect" dressers via Craigslist. These perfect dressers sat in our garage for a month until we finally decided to start sanding. Mr. Woodsy started by removing all of the hardware from the dressers. All hardware removed--the dressers were officially ready to be sanded! And because I'm getting fancy on y'all-- here is an animated photo of Mr. Woodsy sanding the long dresser. He ended up … [Read more...]

Antique Nightstand Revamp

I'm so excited to finally reveal our nightstands. Seriously. We have been looking for nightstands for over a year now. I would scour Craigslist on an almost daily basis--we would stop at garage sales, antique stores, and everything in between. Mr. Woodsy wanted two what I like to call "matchy-matchy" nightstands where as I just wanted 2 night stands in general. On Easter weekend we met a friend of a friend whose mother is an antique broker. She gave us her mom's number and I was planning to call … [Read more...]

Tall Baseboards & Crown Molding {Tips & Tricks}

Last year, when we decided we wanted to revamp our master bedroom the first thing we knew we wanted to do was add crown molding. Mr. Woodsy learned how to install crown  moulding from his dad and has helped install a majority of the crown molding at his parents house. He also installed crown molding in our three smallest rooms (the craft room, guest bathroom, and laundry room) in our house over a year ago. Like most skills you learn if you don't use it you lose it. It takes a while to get back … [Read more...]

Our BEHR Paint Story

I'm so excited to finally share the colors we painted our room! I want to give you a little background on to why we love BEHR paint so much. Since moving to our house we have only used BEHR paint products. For instance when we did our Guest Bathroom Mini-Makeover and  painted our crown moulding black we used BEHR paint. We also showed the world how to paint stripes *using BEHR paint once again. What was never documented on this blog was when we first bought our home and purchased over 20 … [Read more...]

How To Remove Baseboards

Have you ever wondered how to remove the baseboards from your walls without damaging the physical wall itself? While I was away from our home a few months ago, Mr. Woodsy decided he wanted to change out our baseboards in our Master Bedroom. He has became a pro at removing baseboards from the wall without any damage. The baseboard pictured above is the original baseboard from our home. When we first moved into our home Mr. Woodsy carefully removed the baseboards so he could install the bamboo … [Read more...]

We are back today with Part 2 of our 2-part series on how to Upholster a Tufted Headboard. {Part 1} Upholstered Tufted Headboard Tutorial

Our master bedroom revamp project all started because I wanted a headboard. A real fancy headboard. I traveled for work quite a bit last spring; hopping from one fancy hotel to another and in the mean time I was becoming envious of the chic rooms I was staying in. So, when Mr. Woodsy asked me last April what I wanted for my birthday I said I wanted him to make me a headboard. I also wanted to get a new comforter and doing a mini master bedroom revamp. That's how this year-long project … [Read more...]
