Our good friend and fellow blogger at The Space Between, Karah, has a brand new book out; DIY Wood Pallet Projects: 35 Rustic Modern Upcycling Ideas to Personalize Your Space! When she announced on her blog that she was approached to write a book all about wood pallets I was so excited for her. I also knew that it was the perfect fit for Karah–she loves using wood pallets to create awesome projects. For example she has made a pretty cool wood pallet bed, driftwood fish (as pictured on the front cover of her book), and her pallet slat flag tutorial. Karah always has very cool ideas. We too love wood pallet projects.
Karah’s book has a whole chapter on how to break down a pallet, where to find them, and the tools you need to get started! She shares 35 original wood pallet projects, and the last chapter is full of helpful tips on how to age new wood, staining and waxing, painting, sanding, etc.. If you are new at DIY this book is for you. If you are an experienced DIYer this book is also for you. It’s well rounded and full of awesome projects. As soon as we got the book I read it cover-to-cover. It was really hard to pick, but here are our top five favorite projects from Karah’s DIY Wood Pallet Projects book.
The first project Jon fell in love with was this rustic wood clock. The man is obsessed with clocks–yet ask us how many clocks we have? NONE! lol. As soon as he saw this he was like oh… I want to make this clock asap!
Of course I fell in love with the cut-out silhouette. We talked about doing something similar for Ryder’s nursery, but never got around to it.
We both loved this cooler. It would be perfect for entertainer.
We both love a good framed mirror and this one is awesome.
Ummm how awesome is this night stand? I love the arrow detail. I would have never thought to do this to a nightstand.
If you love pallet projects, then you will most definitely love this book! We’ve posted a few Halloween projects that we’ve created that consist of using wood pallets like our Spooky Fences, Graveyard Stakes, and Pallet Wood Coffin in case your ready to start creating some pallet projects right this second.
