Today, I’m so excited to share with you my 12 Months of Martha project. Our October box was filled with all things gold and silver and overall lots of gilding. I created an inexpensive holiday gift that anyone can make with just a few simple craft items. These chevron gilded coasters are classy and would make for a perfect holiday gift or even a house warming gift!
Here is a list of supplies you’ll need to get started.
Supplies:
- Stone Tiles (found at a tile store for .25 each!)
- Liquid Gilding
- Stencil
- Gilding Brush Set
- Elegant Nature Fern Stickers
- Twine
- Scissors
- Glitter Markers Set Warm Spectrum
- 12 x 12 Neutrals Paper Pad
- Elegant Nature Fern Stickers
Place the stencil on top of the stone.
By holding the stencil, carefully paint a thin amount of liquid gilding on to the stone. A very thin amount goes a long way. Also, please know that you can not wipe up liquid gilding like you can acrylic paint. It instantly sticks on.
Carefully remove the stencil and voila! Because the stone has a texture to it I was ok with certain parts not having the gilding in it… I like how rugged and modern they look!
To finish off my gift, I wrapped a little bakers twine around the coasters. Using an orange glitter marker I wrote on the tag. I also stuck the tag on a piece of a cardstock. I adhered the tag using the silver stickers! Perfect gift for mom–or well, for anyone and best of all it will cost you less than $10 to create! In my case it cost $1 since I received all the supplies for free!
Disclaimer: I received the products for free as part of the 12 Months of Martha Campaign. I was not compensated to publish this post–I just love the product. As always all opinions are my own.
