I’m sharing another simple DIY trendy shirt today. This time it’s another pretty funny shirt. I made this shirt for my funny little toddler, Ryder. I used flocked Iron-On vinyl again as well as a tiny little bit of metallic silver! I’m kind of in love with this shirt and I also laugh every time I read it because to me it’s funny. Hope you get my humor!
Now, let me show you how to make this.
- Cricut Explore
- Cricut Design Space™
- Cricut Mat
- Cricut White Flocked, Metallic Silver, and Cyan Iron-On Vinyl
- Cricut Tools
- Iron or Heat Press
- Muslin Cloth
In Cricut Design Space™ I used the new Boys Will Be Boys font and the new space design from the new Trendy T-Shirts cartridge. I’m kind of in love with this new font.
Then, I cut the flocked Iron-On Vinyl on my Cricut Explore. When cutting flocked Iron-On vinyl you don’t need to select a different setting. The traditional “iron-on” selection works fine. I also repeated this step and cut the cyan flag and silver curved “planet” line.
After weeding (not pictured) I then heated up my Heat Press and started working layer by layer. Making a layered shirt is easy! I promise! Start by ironing on the flag first (I also added the space man to make sure the placement was good. Then removed him before I began to iron on.
Next up, remove the plastic from the flag and add the spaceman. Because you are working in layers you need to place a light cloth on top of each layer after your first layer.
Remove the film.
I added both the silver half circle and the text.
I pressed it then I removed the plastic film.
And then one final press for a few seconds to make sure all the pieces and parts are fully pressed on the shirt.
That’s it… one funny trendy shirt for one of the stylish toddlers I know!
And this was the best I could do to capture Ryder in his shirt. Noticing the middle finger point. I love his innocent point it cracks me up.
This little 2 year old just cracks me up daily and his funny shirts makes him that much cuter!
