    Hardwood Floor Cleaning Tips
Spring is right around the corner and with that being said we are already starting to do some spring cleaning. The first order of business is everyday maintenance of our hardwood floors. Now that we have a mobile baby I’m finding myself cleaning the floor a lot more often than ever before! I’m always looking for non-toxic and no residue product as well as an easy-to-use products. Bona recently  reached out to me to see if I wanted to try the Bona Hardwood mop and I jumped at the opportunity! Since our entire house is covered in hardwood and tile I loved the fact that they have cartridges for both surfaces. And the cartridges are super easy to change.

Right now you can download a $3 off coupon to buy a Bona Hardwood mop! It’s super easy to put together, and I love that the cartridge has a tiny hole and is drip free. I was concerned that it might get everywhere as I snapped it into the mop, but that definitely wasn’t the case. Some fear to have hardwood floors because they think it’s too “high maintenance” this is very much not the case. Once you establish a routine it’s easy to keep up with them.

A few tips on cleaning hardwood floors:
    • Always sweep/vacuum before mopping. Ideally you want to vacuum daily (but I realize that isn’t always the case so weekly will do too) to remove unwanted residue that could potentially stain your floor.
    • Remove your shoes before mopping
    • Spot-clean any areas that have caked on residue with a cloth
    • Avoid cleaning with white vinegar and water for hardwood floors–it have a negative effect on your hardwood floors!

Some liquids could damage or worse even stain your precious hardwood floors. It’s so important to use the proper solution when cleaning hardwood floors. That’s why I love Bona. It’s a trusted brand and I know my floors are safe when I use it! Bona Hardwood Floor cleaners are non-toxic and GREENGUARD certified. Bona’s suite of solutions for hardwood floors, wood furniture and stone/tile/laminate floors make cleaning easy and effective, and they won’t leave any residue behind!
