Thank you Schlage for sending us the Schlage SenseTM Smart Deadbolt. As always, all opinions are our own.
I’m so excited to share about the new Schlage SenseTM Smart Deadbolt. You know your an adult when your super excited about a new front door lock. So, we moved into our house last year. And the absolute first thing you should do after you buy a new home is change out the locks. Well, I’m going to confess… we totally slacked on this. This was the first thing we did at our last house but not with our new house. So when my friends at Schlage told me about the new Schlage SenseTM Smart Deadbolt system and asked if we would like to try it… I immediately said yes.
The Schlage SenseTM Smart Deadbolt is one of the strongest, most intelligent Bluetooth® – enabled locks available, the Schlage Sense Smart deadbolt gives you the option to enter your home with an access code on its illuminated touchscreen or by using your iPhone®. The technology is simply amazing!
One of the things I’m on a mission to do in our new house is change all the brassy gold fixtures to the aged bronze look! I simply love it and can’t wait until everything has been switched out! The first order of business was our front door locks. Next up, will be that glass.
Installing the Schlage SenseTM Smart Deadbolt was much easier than we expected. Schlage also has awesome videos to walk you through step-by-step. No need for us to walk you through it.
It took Jon about a nap time to get it installed (which is about an hour and a half). He worked on the front door locks while I worked on my computer catching up on some work.
It would have taken a little bit less time but Jon had to cut into the door jam so that took a little bit of time. And gave me a lot of anxiety for fear he was going to wake up our son! But luckily he stayed sleeping the whole time.
Installing the actual Schlage Sense took no time at all. And the app is very user friendly and walks you through the steps.
I choose the Camelot trim. It’s a bit more traditional and what I’m looking for! I’m in love with our new front door lock!
The Schalge Sense is so easy to operate. To simply lock the door you just touch the “Schlage” logo. You here it lock and then you get the green check mark. Then to unlock you type in your 4-digit code and you get another green check if your passcode is correct and then of course the door unlocks! SO easy!
Here is a close up of the before and after. Same exact Camelot style just different color and we added the new Schlage Sense which has been great for our evening walks out. No need to take keys, just lock the door on the key pad! And when our cleaning lady comes over she now has her own code that is set to the specific time and day she is at the house! We get notifications too when she opens or locks the doors if we aren’t home. I love it!
I love the before and after… now on to changing out the gold trim on the glass doors to the aged bronze. Stay tuned on a tutorial on that–hoping to have my glass ordered next month and installed once it arrives! So if your looking to upgrade your front door lock and get something a little tech-savvy I highly suggest you buy the Schlage Sense! We’ve had it installed for the past few weeks and still love it and have absolutely no complaints!
How on earth are you getting notifications when someone unlocks? I’ve had two of these locks since they came out and haven’t received a single notification.
Hi Christopher, it doesn’t send us a notification. We can log on and see the history and time stamp when the door was unlocked.
Is there any chance that a Bright Brass version of the Schlage Sense Century trim will be coming out soon? I bought three of the Satin Nickel finish for our rental house. I would like to buy two more for our normal home, but our that house has all bright brass fixtures. It would look odd to have satin nickel or matte black as the finish.
Hi Rick–I do not know if they are looking at adding that finish to the line. That was one of the reasons why I switched from the bright brass to the antique bronze was because the finish was not available. I plan to update the brass glass on our front door to match our new Schlage Sense.
I’ve used nothing but schlage locks for years, But now can’t find bright brass in any of the new lock systems
i would have to spend way to much to change all my hinges and hardware..I guess i’ll have to look at switching to Kwikset locks…
Hi Larry–sorry to hear that. I think it’s a trend thing–most people are trying to get away from the bright brass. Sorry! The new Scalage Sense is awesome!
