You guys know how Mr. Woodsy is a self proclaimed wood worker, right? I mean he is 100% self-taught. He has never had any formal training… well whether you are a beginner or advanced woodworker the fine people over at UncommonGoods are hosting a Woodworking Design Challenge
Challenge: Whether it’s carved, whittled, etched or stained, we love the beauty of a carefully crafted woodworking design. And so do our customers! Enter the Woodworking Design Challenge for a chance to see your design as our next best-selling wooden gift. A call for entries for designs featuring wood as a main material!
The Winner: After the call for entries, the semifinalist designs chosen by the UncommonGoods buyers will appear on UncommonGoods.com where the online community will vote on their favorite pieces to move on to the final round of judging. The top five voted designs will be judged by UncommonGoods Senior Buyer Erin Fergussen and San Francisco artist Dave Marcoullier. A winner will be chosen in late-March. The winner will receive $500, an UncommonGoods vendor contract, and will see their product sold on UncommonGoods.com alongside some of the site’s most popular wooden designs.
Runner Ups: All runners up will receive a critique of their work from the guest judges, as well as tips for marketing and growing your business. Additionally, the UncommonGoods buying team will be happy to review your full portfolio and may consider adding the work submitted to the UncommonGoods website in the future.
Deadline: February 28th, 2013 at 11:59 EST is the deadline for submissions (it’s sneaking up on us… so enter right this second)!
