    12-days-of-Handmade-Ornaments-text

I’m so excited to bring back the 12 Days of Handmade ornaments again this year. Last year, we took a break from the series, but I truly missed it and promised myself I would bring it back in 2013! Over the next 12 days we have some pretty amazing handmade ornaments to share from us as well as from some of our favorite blog friends! Plus, we have a pretty awesome Cricut Prize Pack giveaway for one lucky reader!

    Snowflake Die-Cut Ornaments

To kick off our 12 days of Handmade Ornaments even I’m sharing these super simple Snowflake Die-Cut Ornaments. I made these in no time using my Cricut Mini. Gone are the days of hand-cutting snowflakes on paper. I used the Cricut® Winter Lace Seasonal Cartridge that has a variety of beautiful and intricate snowflakes.

    Supplies:

    • Cricut Mini® Personal Electronic Cutter
    • Cricut Craft Room
    • Cricut® Winter Lace Seasonal Cartridge
    • Paper
    • Cricut® Tools Basic Set
    • Adhesive *if needed
    • Scissors
    • Gold thread

Die-Cut Snow Flake Ornaments on the Cricut

Using Cricut Craft Room I placed three snowflake cut-outs from the Cricut® Winter Lace Seasonal Cartridge on to the mat. I sized them to how large I wanted them (about 3 inches). Die-Cut Snow Flake Ornaments using the @Cricut from SewWoodsy.com

I placed the paper in the Cricut Mini® Personal Electronic Cutter and clicked in Cricut Craft Room to let it cut!

Using the Cricut® Tools Basic Set I pealed the paper from the mat.

I removed all the negative paper from the snowflakes and placed them on my desk. Die-Cut Snow Flake Ornaments using the @Cricut from SewWoodsy.com

I started assembling each snowflake.Die-Cut Snow Flake Ornaments using the @Cricut from SewWoodsy.com

This is what it looked like once one of the snowflakes were assembled. Die-Cut Snow Flake Ornaments using the @Cricut from SewWoodsy.com

I used a little adhesive on the snowflakes that were a little looser to hold the two paper cut-outs in place.Die-Cut Snow Flake Ornaments using the @Cricut from SewWoodsy.com

Using thick gold thread I began turning the 3-d snowflakes into ornaments.Die-Cut Snow Flake Ornaments using the @Cricut from SewWoodsy.com

The Snowflake Die-Cut Ornaments were officially ready to be hung on the tree!

Voila! Easy as that my Snowflake Die-Cut Ornaments were hung and ready for display! Die-Cut Snow Flake Ornaments using the @Cricut from SewWoodsy.com
