Create a fun DIY Fishing for Numbered Pumpkins Game for your toddler or young elementary schoolers next fall or Halloween class party!

Last month, I created this DIY Fishing for Numbered Pumpkins Game for my son’s class fall party. I wanted a fun but yet educational game. Thanks to my Cricut I was able to print then cut the pumpkins. I recently invested in an inexpensive thermal laminator on Amazon. It’s something I’ve always wanted, and once my son hit elementary school I knew I wanted to have one on hand. I basically laminate ALL THE THINGS now!

I have a new fun feature–a printable card with all the instructions for the project in one place for you! But don’t worry I’ll still have my step-by-step photos for you to reference too! If you want the card you will need to scroll down to the bottom.

Here are the step-by-step photos of how to create your own pumpkin number learning game.

It will prompt you to print then place the printed cardstock on a Cricut Mat.

Load the mat into the Cricut Explore Air 2. Set the smart dial to “cardstock” and press cut.

Once cut, remove and repeat until all the numbered pumpkins are done.

DIY Fishing for Numbered Pumpkins Game using the Amazon Laminator

Heat the laminator. Once the laminator is ready–place pumpkins in laminating sheet. Run through the laminator.

Using scissors, cut around the laminated pumpkins.

DIY Fishing for Numbered Pumpkins Game with magnets

Remove the adhesive sticker from the round magnet and place one magnet on the back of each pumpkin.

I just love how this turned out. All the kids loved playing the game. My kids still ask to play it at home.

To play the pumpkin fishing game, grab the magnetic fishing poles and a dice. Let the kids start rolling the dice. Whatever number they roll on is what number pumpkin they need to try to “fish” for.
