I’m so excited to share a new video with our readers today! We had to cover buttons with fabric for our Upholster a Bench Cushion and Tufting project and thought that our readers (and the world) would love to see how its done. This is a very simple process to do and makes a world of a difference when upholstering a piece of furniture. Watch the video to learn how to cover your own buttons for your next upholstery project!

    Supplies for this project:

⅞ inch 2 Half Ball Cover Buttons

    Fabric of choice

    Scissors & Invisible Ink Pen

Apply what you learned to these two project:

I bought button covering kits at JoAnn’s, but my upholstery fabric is too thick to work on the buttons. Any suggestions for another method?

Hi Katheleen, Maybe try using a rubber mallet and lightly hit the button closure with it?!?! That’s the only idea I have for you. Good luck!
