How to Install LED Lighting

How to Install LED Lighting

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Homes.com. Before Ryder was born, Jon filmed a video for our friends over at Homes.com to share how to install LED lighting. We did this underneath and above the kitchen cabinets. We decided to recess the crown moulding and drop some LED rope lighting into the crown moulding for the nursery. It gives the perfect glow at 2am in the morning when you really don't want all the lights are on. Watch the video to learn just how Jon installs LED … [Read more...]

Chalkboard Paint – Painted Frame

Chalkboard Paint - Painted Frame #12MonthsofMartha

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Martha Stewart Crafts as always all opinions are my own. I'm so excited to share an easy chalkboard paint -- painted picture frame. This is another nap time craft; however, it will be a 2-nap craft meaning that you start the project during the first nap of the day and during the second nap you do the second coat of the chalkboard paint on the frame. I'm in love with all the new colors of chalkboard paint that Martha Stewart Crafts has come out … [Read more...]

PBK Ultimate Changing Table Knockoff

PBK Ultimate Changing Table Knockoff

We started working with Ana on these plans for a knockoff version of the Pottery Barn Kids Ultimate Changing Table before Ryder was born. We got the plans the day before I was sent to the hospital to be induced. A week later we were home and my mother in-law insisted Jon and I get out of the house and take a few hours away from the baby. So we did, and where did we go? To The Home Depot to pick up supplies for this changing table. Then throughout the months (yes, as in April, May, and June) Jon … [Read more...]

DIY Iron-On Vinyl Turtle Name Onesie & Pants

Today, I'm excited to bring you another quick and easy iron-on vinyl project today. We are now in round 2 of the Cricut Design Space Star challenge and this month's theme is fashion. My team decided our theme for fashion would be "pop of color". Ryder had quite a few plain onesies and pants that needed a little extra something and adding on some blue iron-on vinyl was the perfect opportunity to give it the pop of color it needed! Supplies: Onesie Pants Cricut Iron-On Vinyl Cricut … [Read more...]

Snuza Go! Product Review & Giveaway!

Snuza Go! Product Review + Giveaway #SnuzaGo

Disclosure:  I am part of the PTPA Brand Ambassador Program with Snuza and I received compensation as part of my affiliation with this group.  The opinions on this blog are my own.   For those that have babies or have babies that are grown up. I know you can relate to this post. As a new mom (and dad) we worry about Ryder 24-7. Especially when he is sleeping (even though he isn't a big fan and hasn't caught on to this "sleep thing" yet). After I put Ryder to sleep at night, I … [Read more...]

4 Month Update!

Four Months Old! #babywoodsy

Ok, so I might be about two weeks late on this, but better late than never, right? Plus, I'm trying to do a monthly update instead of a 3 month update like the last one that had five-million photos in it! There is no doubt that we have a very animated baby. The boy makes some of the craziest faces. I wonder who he gets it from? And he's totally a busy-body just like both Jon and I. Here is his month update in photos and some words! This is how I typically try to bang out a blog post … [Read more...]

Attending a Blog Conference with a Baby — Haven 2014

Ryder in Car

Last month, we attended the third year of Haven Conference. For those, non-DIY bloggers, Haven is a 2-day Home Decor & DIY Blog Conference. Bloggers from all over the United States attend this conference that is held in Atlanta, Georgia. Last year, at Haven I was 7 weeks pregnant and oh-so sick. But I hid it as well as one could, and just about no one caught on that I was pregnant! So it was nice to attend this year without having to hide anything. Instead I was showing off the little bundle … [Read more...]

Paper Fish Nursery Decor

Paper Fish Nursery Decor

Oh man, am I excited to finally share the Paper Fish Nursery Decor I made for Ryder's room before he was born. When we started brainstorming ideas for his nursery I knew I wanted to incorporate fish. I had it in my head that I wanted a school of fish swimming from one side of his wall to the next. Then to add more depth to the wall we added the hand-cut letters of his name to the wall. It's like the fish are swimming from his name and I love everything about it! Can I tell you that this was … [Read more...]

DIY Nautical Burp Cloth

nautical burp cloth from @KatieJasiewicz #12MonthsOfMartha #MarthaStewartCrafts #Baby

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Martha Stewart Crafts as always all opinions are my own. I was never one to like customized clothing, towels, bags, etc... that all changed once I had my son, Ryder. For some reason, I want his name on EVERYTHING. I'm kind of becoming addicted to it. When I got my nautical stencil in last month, I knew I wanted to use it and make a custom nautical burp cloth. We can never have too many burp cloths. Especially since we are in that super drooly stage. I … [Read more...]
